CDS 1 Exam Pattern 2018 – Highlights of the written examination

  • The written exam of CDS 2018 will be conducted offline in pen and paper mode.
  • CDS 1 written exam for those willing to apply for Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Forse Academy Will be held 300 Marks. However, for Admission to Officers’ Training Academy, the written examination will be conducted for 200 marks.
  • Tests of English and General Knowledge will consist of 120 questions, whereas Elementary Mathematics section will consist of 100 questions.
  • According to the CDS exam pattern 2018, there will negative marketing of 1/3 marks or 0.33 marks allotted to a particular question in case of incorrect response.
  • For every correct answer in English and general knowledge, candidates will be givem 0.83 marks per question. However, candidates will get 1 mark each for every correct response in the elementary mathematics section.
  • Maximum marks allotted to written exam and interview for each course will be equal.
  • All the questions in the written will be objective as specified in CDS 1 exam pattern.
  • Each Paper Will be held for a duration of two hours.
  • Candidates will have to write the papers on their own. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.
  • The commission has the sole discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.
  • The candidates will not be permitted to use the calculator for answering objective type papers.
